The title song from Martin Scorcese’s 1977 film starring Robert De Niro and Liza Minneli became the closing number at Sinatra’s concerts. This hymn to the “Big Apple” also became New York’s unofficial anthem. Sinatra first sang this song live in concert in the late 1970s and recorded it in the studio in 1979. The song can also be heard in several movies: Peter Bogdanovich’s “They All Laughed” (1981), John Carpenter’s “Star-man” (1984) and Albert Brooks’s “Lost in America” (1985)
